Do you have that “go to” tech tool you use for every conference or event? Maybe it’s an app, or a device, or a software program that makes your life easier. Whatever the “it” is, don’t be afraid to explore other things. For the longest time I was old school all the way. I had both digital and printed notes (a back up to my back up), phone lists and electronic contacts, and would print out my boarding pass (what if my phone dies while I’m in security??) Over the last several years I have joined the TECH train. Having everything in the cloud makes our lives easier and our suitcases lighter.
In taking a look around at “what’s hot in Tech for conferences” for this blog, I came across a few that even I hadn’t seen, yet –
SelfieSpott – a new text-based photo branding opportunity. Planners can create a graphic overlay with the event logo or information. Each SelfieSpott image has social sharing links included so users can share their customized photo on Facebook and Twitter or via text or email.
Glisser – is a new engagement platform, allowing speakers to share real-time with the audience specific slides during the presentation as well as allowing for live polling and responses to be presented immediately.
Google – I know, Google isn’t new, right? They now have an indoor mapping software that will allow your attendees navigate the twists and turns of the convention center.
ConfBot – this tool brings together artificial intelligence, texting and your attendees. The service offers event information on the agenda, personalized schedules, attendee messaging, feedback, surveys and more.
I think as artificial intelligence improves, so will the software, app and other tools targeting the meeting planning industry. People want to go faster, move quicker, stop standing in lines, and get to the “real reason” they are there. Identifying tools that make not only the lives of your attendees easier, but the lives as well, of the meeting planner.
So, seeing the “what’s new” – what is it today that you feel is indispensable?
For me, and likely many of you, it’s my mobile smart phone. It’s the one place where I can access all of my data, checklists, images, contacts, team and still use it to call or text. Somedays my mobile phone feels like an additional appendage – always there to guide and help me out of a jam.
I’d love to learn more about what you’re using and some cool Tech Tools – you’ve found. Feel free to reach out via social media or the contact form on our site.
